Staying Home Survival Guide
Hi Friends!
Looks like we’ll all be staying home for the next few weeks… so I thought it would be fun to share some ideas and tips on how to make the most of it. From meal ideas to kid actives and date nights at home, I got you!
MEALS: GET THEM DELIVERED! You know we are avid Home Chef customers (have been for over a year and a half now!). If you have been waiting to try it, now couldn’t be a more perfect time. You’ll get your dinner delivered straight to your door, no need to leave the house! Whether you are single, a newlywed, empty nester, or a family of 6+… Home Chef has it all. If you are trying to avoid the grocery store (like me) or if your stores have run out of certain items (also like me) then now is the perfect time to try! For the next four weeks while we’re all laying low, try Home Chef for $25 off each week with my code HEYMADI100. They even have slow cooker meals that feed a crowd if you have your kids home and a full house these next few weeks!
KIDS ACTIVITIES: GET CREATIVE! You know all of that rice you have stock piled? Pull out a few cups and let them pour it into different tubberwear containers. Create a sensory bin with whatever you can find- pasta, beans, ice cube trays, measuring cups, etc. Bring a popsicle to bath time (one of Bubs’ favorites!). Make cars out of all of those amazon boxes and have a drive-in movie in your living room! Tape paper towel or toilet paper rolls to a wall and let your kids put a ball or toy down the shoots… see where it lands! Fill one of your kitchen drawers or cabinets with a bunch of random (and safe) items, let your toddler explore and play in a new spot! Post-Its all over a window. Go for a walk if you can. Soak in the family time… because this won’t last forever. These are just a few! You can always search Pinterest for more ideas.. I know we’ll need them!
DATE NIGHT AT HOME! To be completely honest, David and I are total homebodies. We LOVE staying home. Date nights at home are one of our favorite things. After the babies go down, pour a glass of wine, turn your phones off and BE TOGETHER! We like to watch our favorite shows, play a game, talk about our kids- HA. It doesn’t have to be anything crazy.. for us it’s just time to reconnect. We are loving QUIXX right now, it’s fun and easy to play with two people! You can get it on amazon :). Thanks, DarylAnn!!!!
