K, SO- MY HUSBAND, DAVID, ALWAYS LAUGHS WHEN I START A SENTENCE WITH THIS BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE I'M SAYING "QUESO"... ANYWHOOO.
I'm Madison Nelson - the heart behind this blog. I am originally from Charlotte, NC but met the love of my life while I was living in Haiti. We both have a heart for service, travel, people, faith, new cultures, laughter, Netflix, the list goes on...
We now live in Dallas, Texas as newlyweds but are constantly on the go. We have traveled enough miles together to go around the earth 4 times in our short time together! We would rather look back and say "Wow! I can't believe we did that!!!" Than... "Dang. Why didn't we do that when we could have??"
WE DO NOT HAVE EVERYTHING FIGURED OUT. I, ESPECIALLY, DO NOT HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT! WE ARE CONSTANTLY LEARNING + GROWING.
I originally started my little blog as a place to share my personal journals- words from the heart of encouragement + comfort during hard times. It has been so amazing to have so much love and support from y'all.
I WILL LEAVE YOU WITH A FAVORITE POEM OF OURS:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, Who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us, it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberated others. ”
