Nursing Friendly Necessities
Nursing Friendly Necessities
I am so excited to partner with Motherhood Maternity to share some of my favorite, easy nursing looks in honor of National Breastfeeding Month (you can read about my breastfeeding journey + Q&A here). I am thankful that Motherhood Maternity makes it a little easier for us mamas with stylish nursing options... there is nothing like feeling confident in your new mom bod!
While I was pregnant, I purchased a few NECESSARY maternity pieces for my wardrobe... easy basics that I could style with non-maternity wear. I never imagined that my post-partum wardrobe would be totally dependent on its NURSING-CAPABILITY! Like, you mean..... everything I wear needs to be nursing friendly!? Yep- at least for the first few months when it's still all so new!
In the early weeks after Easton was born, I was mainly focused on comfort for recovery reasons. I wore a lot of nursing tanks, joggers, cardigans, and robes! One of my favorite robes that has made nursing at home easy is this gorgeous print robe from Motherhood Maternity (that is also bump friendly!). I styled it here with matching boxers and the BEST nursing tank I own. This "luxe" cami is made of the softest material and the clip is easily adjusted with one hand (that's a MUST when it comes to nursing bras + tanks!). It's also a little bit longer than other tanks which makes it more comfortable post-partum, I came home from the hospital with what felt like a 6-month pregnant belly! So that extra length was key.

My style has always been comfortable, simple, and chic. I wanted to make sure that my nursing-style kept all three of those key points! Here are a few of my favorite nursing-friendly necessities:
A Cute Wrap Cardigan: layer this piece straight out of the hospital! I wore this black wrap cardigan, this nursing tank and these joggers for the first two weeks post-partum. Comfort will be key and this cardigan will help transition into your first outing with baby, as it also acts as a nursing cover! This one is perfect for the warmer months.
A Good Nursing Tank: You can layer this under all of your favorite tops, sweaters, kimonos. You can also sleep in these for easy access. Motherhood Maternity has awesome options.
A Comfortable Robe: I LIVED in my robes for the first few weeks post partum. They make the long days at home super comfortable, you can sleep, feed, and feel put together in them! This is the one I have been loving lately.
One Pair of Black Leggings or Joggers: This pair of postpartum leggings is awesome because they are comfortable, stretchy, and still hold you in. I felt confident wearing a nursing tank and a cardigan with this pair in the early weeks! I also LOVE my joggers... this pair is my favorite for comfort!
A Go-To Top: Make sure you have aleast ONE nursing friendly top in your closet that isn't a tank top, but a shirt that you can throw on for lunch or dinner with some jeans and wedges or heels and feel put together!
Happy #NationalBreastfeedingMonth to ALL of the moms! I hope this post helps a little, leave me a comment and tell me what you want to see next!
