My Everyday Look in 11 Easy Steps!
Here it goes! My favorite go-to look in 11 easy steps:
I am a loyal makeup wearer... once I find something I like, I stick with it for years! After my wedding makeup trial with my girlfriend Sabrina (you need to follow her + Lindsey, because they are the real makeup gurus) - anywayssss! After my trial, Sabrina was laughing at me saying it was time for some new brushes + products! My drugstore eyeshadows weren't cutting it.
I ran to the mall and bought the eyeshadow palette that she used on me and have been using it ever since (you can find it below), and just last week I picked up the second version of this Tarte palette because I loved it so much! Whenever I find a product I love I am always nervous they're going to cancel it... so I buy a backup just in case (especially if there's a sale)!
I pretty much stick with the same simple look all of the time- I like a little eyeshadow, a lot of glow, big eyelashes, and bronzer!
Step 1:
Rub 2 or 3 drops of organic argan oil all over your face. I purchase mine off of Amazon for $12... it doesn't have to be anything fancy, it just sets your skin with a nice glow before you put on your makeup! I use this argan oil all over my body when I get out of the shower- if you have dry skin, it's amazing!
Step 2: Wet your Beauty Blender! Don't forget this step!
Get your beauty blender damp- wet it under your faucet and then dry it off a little on a towel! This step is key... a dry beauty blender just doesn't work the same! (I do EVERYTHING with this beauty blender! Everything!! It's $20, but worth every penny.)
Step 3: Primer!
Pump a little bit of this highlighting primer onto your hand and use your beauty blender to add all over your face. I love this stuff. When I am running out of the house I will just rub this on and swipe a little bronzer over my cheeks. It just makes your skin GLOW and even covers up a little!
Step 4: Foundation!
I have been adding a few pumps of this Benefit Dew the Hoola to my foundation (it's on sale!) this summer. Lindsey Regan Thorne taught me this trick on her insta-story! Just mix them on the back of your hand with your beauty blender and then add all over!
Step 5: Eyeshadow + Primer
Ok, this is a step I missed out on for years. I never used eyeshadow primer and always wondered why the heck my eyeshadow was off within an hour! Especially in the summer time! I love this primer (I dab a little on each eye with my beauty blender) because it adds a nice base color... and this eyeshadow palette is what Sabrina used on my wedding day! Heart eyes. The colors all blend so naturally. It's worth the splurge! I also picked up the matching palette that has a few shadows with sparkle... so pretty. I use the darkest shade as my eye liner as well!
Step 6: Undereye
I like to use my undereye concealer as a contour... I paint a little triangle under both eyes with it. First, I use this Well Rested brightener in a triangle shape and then I add this Stroke of Light (I use Luminous 2) on top. It is like a concealer but much lighter, which I like. I don't love heavy makeup, so this is perfect for a daytime look. I pat both of these in a triangular motion with my beauty blender!
*Side note- I also have this drugstore dupe ($7.99) that I love and believe it works just as well as the Bare Minerals version!
Step 7: Bronzer + Blush/Contour
This is my favorite step! I have 3 bronzers that I alternate between. This NARS bronzer/blush duo is something I keep in my bathroom AND in my purse! I have used it since I was in high school... This mini version is perfect for your purse + travel. It also lasts forever. The 'Orgasm' blush in this duo is a favorite for everyone + the only blush I've ever worn!
This Bare Minerals bronzer is so lightweight and natural- I use the color 'Warmth'. It doesn't have any shimmer and it has a really nice pink tint so it looks like a natural sun kissed tan! I have also used this one for years... and it'll last you at least one year before you need a new one!
I recently bought this Tarte highlighter/contour palette and I'm in love with it! I swipe the bronzer on my cheekbones and alternate between the 4 highlighters it comes with depending on where I'm going...
Step 8: Eyelashes
I love big eyelashes. They finish off any look. Last year, I got eyelash extensions and it was one of the worst beauty mistakes I've ever made! They ripped out most of my eyelashes and whatever were left were broken in half! I will never get them again.... I got this Bobbi Brown Mascara in a sample bag from Sephora a few months ago and fell in love with it. It gives you extra volume without any clumping, which is nice for this Texas heat.
My mom bought me this eyelash curler for Christmas years ago and it still works like a charm. It's $25 but I use it everyday + it lasts! I hit it with my blowdryer for a few seconds before I use it to add extra curl.
Step 9: Eyebrows on fleek
Actually, maybe this is my favorite step... eyebrows. We have a love/hate relationship. Growing up, I was constantly bullied about my eyebrows and hairy arms... I started getting my eyebrows waxed in like the third grade, no joke! I was always super self conscious about my big bushy eyebrows. And now they're in! So hey, it always comes full circle. When I wake up and brush my teeth, I also brush my eyebrows. Haha! David always laughs at me because I love to comb my eyebrows... it's a thing. I carry this $1 comb with me in every purse, my car, my suitcase, my makeup bag... you always gotta be ready for those crazy brow hairs that don't want to stay in place!!!
If I feel like I need to fill in a little (usually only for night time looks) I love this $3 eyebrow kit. I've had it for years! I have tried the expensive ones as well, but to be honest- I like this one the best! I even use the little brush it comes with.
Step 10: HIGHLIGHTER
Ooooooooooh... maybe this one is my favorite. Haha! I LOVE a good highlighter. It just makes me feel like I've been at the beach all day and have some nice leftover dew on my face. I have tried a few different ones, and I have powder, liquid and now stick highlighters. Love them all! But THIS HIGHLIGHTER (in LIT) is my favorite so far, and it's a fair price. I swipe it on my cheekbone and up to the end of my brow- I will pat it in with my ring finger! Simple- and adds the prettiest touch.
Step 11: Finish it all off!
This step is just as important as the primer! I have tried a bunch of different Finishing Powders... but I HATE powders! This Tarte Finishing Powder is really nice and lightweight. I use it with a large powder brush all over my face.
Voila! Let me know if you guys have any questions about how to use these products or what shade I'm wearing!
